SCNY 139th Annual members exhibition

Over the years, the Salmagundi Club has been well-known for providing its artist members with important exhibition opportunities. The Annual members’ exhibition showcases its club members’ finest works of art in all media – oil, watercolor, pastel, graphics, sculpture, photography and mixed media. Our illustrious membership includes both nationally-recognized award winners as well as emerging talent.

2023 Mary McCord Award

“Ramen” has won the 2023 Mary McCord Award in the 114th Annual Thumb-Box Exhibition.

Auction – October 22, 2022

“The Dog Beach”

The original oil painting, “The Dog Beach” will go up for auction on October 22, 2022 at noon as part of the annual Fall Auction at the Salmagundi Club. Click here for more information, or to bid.

Award of Merit

“Haruka and Marla”

The 2021 oil painting “Haruka and Marla” has received an award of merit from the National Art League. This painting is on display now through May 28th 2022 and depicts two horn players in the Shake Em’ Up Jazz Band at the world famous jazz bar Maison on Frenchmen Street in New Orleans. It is part of the Pairs Exhibition at the National Art League. For more information on the venue or the show click here.

2022 SCNY Figurative Show

“White Dressing Gown” will be in the 2022 Salmagundi Club’s Figurative Show from January 8th-28th. Out of 900 entries, 70 works of art were selected for inclusion in this show. This exhibition has work from some of the best figure artists alive today.

The Salmagundi Club is located on 47 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY. The Show is Free and open to the public during normal gallery hours. You can find out more information about the show using the link below:

Summer Exhibition

“Vinyl”, oil on wood panel, 8″x10″

“Vinyl” will be included in the 2021 Salmagundi Summer Exhibition.

Variety and diversity are the hallmarks of the “SCNY Summer Exhibition”, an annual event open to all Salmagundi artist members. Taking its cue from the “mixed bag” characteristics of real life, this exhibit will show a variety of high quality paintings, sculptures, graphics and photography.

The focus is to display not only the wide range of artistic techniques, but also to spotlight each artist’s own personal expressions and unique aesthetic vision.

Don Donaldson Memorial Award

“The Library Corner” has won the Don Donaldson Memorial Award for a Figurative Work in the Salmagundi Club’s 2020 Thumbox Exhibition.

2020 Big & Small Show

“Charles and Laurel” will be one of two paintings on display

The National Art League will display two oil paintings from Seth Harris at their gallery at 44-21 Douglaston Parkway, Douglaston, NY as part of their annual Big & Small Exhibition. The show will run from February 3-29, 2020.

Gallery Night at Brooklyn Swings

Balboa

On Friday January 13th from 7pm-10pm, I will have several paintings on display at Pizza and Gallery Night put on by Brooklyn Swings. Five swing dance related oil paintings will be featured. Also, there will be dancing and a live jazz band. All ages are welcome to attend.

The event will be held at 231 Ainslie Street in Brooklyn, NY. Go upstairs and enter the double doors under the church awning (Subway riders take the L train to the Graham Ave stop).
