2020 Contemporary Realism Exhibition

“Sixty-eight works in Oils in a broad range of representational styles will be on view, displaying interpretations of realism seen through the lens of 46 contemporary artists. Various subjects from landscape, urban views, interiors, still life, and portraiture show the unique creative eyes of these artists as they depict the world around them, each sharing their own perspective and passions through their art. B Artists hail from 11 states including CT, FL, GA, MD, MN, NC, NH,NJ, NY, OR and PA”

Out My Window Exhibition

In the face of COVID, the Salmagundi Club challenged it’s membership to provide artwork for an online only exhibition.

“Opened or closed, a window is a transparent barrier that places the viewer apart from what is viewed. What’s seen is filtered by the viewer’s mindset into perceived reality. Every artist has his/her own particular way of seeing real or metaphoric. The artist’s own image may be reflected back to him too, somehow detached from its environment, inviting a more spiritual and less physical translation. The artist’s interpretation of the image may be influenced by current circumstances, beautiful memories, or simply a vision of feeling made visible. What do you see Out Your Window?”

In addition to drawing and painting, I also co-organize for a swing dance performance group called the NY Sea Findyhoppers. Out of 750 groups out team won third place in the marching category in the 2019 Coney Island Mermaid Parade.

I was recently interviewed by Mary McGinn of madetomove.co regarding how our group is adapting to the pandemic and what our plans for the future are. You can read the full article here.
